Assisted with a trade mission/study tour from North Korea concerned with the UNDP supported Tumen River Project, which is the establishment of a free trade zone on the Tumen River in China, North Korea and Russia where the three countries meet. The delegation was particularly interested in freight movement around the European free trade area. | ||||

Yanbian fact-finding | 1994, 1996 and 1997 |

Made fact-finding visits to Yanji, the capital of the Autonomous Korean Prefecture of Yanbian, the Korean minority area in Jilin Province in China. Developed links with the Yanbian Prefecture Government, particularly the Traffic Department, and local businesses. Explored Yanbian visiting the Chanbai Mountains (Paektu San amd Chung Hee (Heavenly Lake)), nearby Jingpo Lakes and Dai Shui Lou Falls and Tumen City and Tumen River. | ||||

It has offices in Seoul in South Korea, Pyongyang and Rajin in North Korea, Beijing in China and Yanji in the Autonomous Korean Prefecture of Yanbian in China, with its European Headquarters in Liphook. Administers the British side of the Consultancy, as a part-time activity, and provides consultancy services. | ||||

Police Traffic Safety and Engineering Training, Korea | 1986 |

Organised and lectured in a World Bank funded month-long training course in road safety and traffic engineering for Seoul Metropolitan Police Bureau. The course, with a training team of six British experts, was held at the Road Traffic Safety Association. The course syllabus covered the fundamentals of traffic engineering, traffic management and control, traffic law enforcement, accident investigation and road safety. | ||||
